About the Artist
Katherine Mercurio Gotthardt
is a poetry and prose writer residing in Western Prince William County
where she enjoys exploring history, art, culture and nature. An advocate
for preservation, conservation and civic engagement, Gotthardt
volunteers for several non-profit organizations. In 2011, she founded Writers for a Cause, a group of authors who donate to various charities. She has been a freelance, community writer for News & Messenger
newspaper, an online, college English instructor and an ESOL, Adult
Education instructor. Besides publishing short pieces, Katherine has
authored a children’s book, Furbily-Furld Takes on the World; Poems from the Battlefield, a collection of her original Civil War themed poetry, archival and original photos with period quotes; and Approaching Felonias Park, a novel. Weaker Than Water, a second collection of Katherine’s poetry, came out in April, 2013.Katherine’s resume can be found on LinkedIn. She is available for speaking engagements and workshops.
