This was one of my earliest attempts at painting (as an adult).  I did it around 2001, and I think it's oil.  It's on canvas board.  There's a lot of glare from the camera here.

An Open Window for Mom

I finished this painting today.  It is in honor of my mother (in-law), Dorie Gotthardt , an amazing inspiration and artist who died January 8 of this year. I promised her I would work on trying to paint more realistic things.  Since I'm self taught for the most part, this small piece on a 5x5 canvas was a real challenge.  By Katherine Gotthardt, 2013.
