I learned how to use a fan brush and a sea sponge during a 90 minute class where we created a spring painting in ac ryli c on canvas board. Might make a nice postcard.
In the dream, David bought a packet of something like sea monkeys and threw them in an empty in-ground pool. These huge, dangerous creatures grew and we had to hide the pets so the creatures wouldn't eat them. This was one of the creatures. Actually, it was longer than this, but I ran out of space on the paper. acrylic on paper
I was bored and wanted to do real art but was too tired. Hard not to get those little watercolor pencil crumbs on the sketch pad. I think the watercolor paper works better. I'm left-handed so I have to pay attention to smudging anyway. Maybe I'll try regular colored pencils next time.
This started out as a little watercolor pencil stencil that I filled in and outline d . I scanned it, then imported it into PowerPoint and played with the options. Kind of fun.
I cannot take credit for the art or the poem on the magnet to the left. The poetry on both cards is Leigh Giza's . On the right, the background art is a scanned piece of my painting "Woman United."
Poetry courtesy of Leigh Giza --except the one on bottom left because I couldn't come up with anything else LOL! What you see in the background is a scanned image of pieces of my paintings and stencils. This is a fun partnership!
Talented writer Leigh Giza has offered some of her lovely, short poetry which I've snatched for magnets. Some are (and will be) hand painted, others matted on scanned pieces of my original art. It was a pleasure having an arts and crafts day yesterday and we are both excited to present our offerings at Arts Alive ! More coming, so stay tuned!
Someone told me this little tempera on cardboard painting I did back in 2002 looked like a Grandma Moses piece. I'm not so sure about that, but it sold on eBay, which I thought was hilarious.
